Family Service Worker

Job Summary:
The Family Service Worker reports to the Family Services Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children by working with families to address identified risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an Officer Under the Act with all powers ancillary thereto pursuant to the provisions of The Child & Family Services Act, for the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Develop and implement case-plans, documentation, and legal agreements in accordance with the Family Centered Case Management Manual.
- Provide support, counseling, and interventions to address identified risk factors.
- Participate in family group conferencing, case conferences, and case planning with Prevention Services.
- Work with families and out-of-home placements to achieve safety, well-being, and permanence for children.
- Collaborate with community resource personnel to establish services for families.
- Refer families to appropriate agencies for specific needs, such as counseling services, addictions treatment, child assessment, etc.
- Prepare documentation for and attend Family Services Court.
- Advocate and assist clients to remove barriers.
- Provide informational sessions regarding ICFS and The Child & Family Services Act to community resources.
- Ensure all files and documentation are up-to-date and accurate.
- Take necessary actions to apprehend children when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW) degree.
- Ability to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse, and Driver's Abstract Clearance.
