About the Role

This is a senior leadership position that reports directly to the President and CEO of NAV CANADA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Labour Relations team and providing strategic advice on complex labour-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing Labour Relations team that delivers exceptional results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders on labour relations matters, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, and labour legislation.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of labour relations strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with labour unions, employees, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manage and resolve complex labour disputes and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of Labour Relations team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with labour legislation, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and excellence in labour relations.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Labour Relations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in leading Labour Relations teams and resolving complex labour disputes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including labour unions, employees, and senior management.
