Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include:

  1. Managing and executing field operations for contaminated land projects, encompassing various phases of Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeological studies, and remediation efforts.
  2. Supporting the creation of environmental management strategies, including protection plans and compliance documentation.
  3. Documenting fieldwork and safety meetings in both paper and digital formats as required.
  4. Preparing sampling strategies, gathering and organizing field data, and maintaining detailed field notes.
  5. Conducting wildlife surveys, wetland assessments, and vegetation studies.
  6. Assisting in environmental monitoring on construction and industrial sites.
  7. Contributing to the preparation of environmental assessment reports, including data analysis and logging.
  8. Supporting hazardous material surveys and participating in air quality testing initiatives.
  9. Operating and maintaining specialized project equipment.
  10. Willingness to work remotely for extended periods.
  11. Availability for overtime as needed.
  12. Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
Project Management
  1. Collaborating with laboratories, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of technical documents, including reports and memos.
  3. Providing support to project managers and multidisciplinary teams, with potential for growth into project management roles.
Professional Development
  1. Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  2. Engagement in professional associations to enhance Dillon's corporate presence.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree or diploma in Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Entry-level experience in environmental consulting is advantageous.
  3. Capability to gather field data in compliance with regulatory standards.
  4. A valid driver's license.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to perform a variety of tasks.
  6. Comfort with operating a 4X4 vehicle in off-road conditions.
  7. Readiness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  8. Eligibility for professional registration is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills

Familiarity with:

  1. Relevant environmental legislation and guidelines.
  2. Construction practices and environmental mitigation strategies.
  3. Collection of biological and physical data.
  4. Environmental baseline assessments and impact evaluations.
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS is beneficial.
  6. Data management and database organization skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  9. Experience in technical report writing.
