We are seeking an Environmental Crisis Response Project Supervisor to enhance our emergency response and remediation team. This role is critical in managing projects associated with environmental incidents, particularly those involving hazardous materials.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing projects related to transportation and commercial spills, ensuring effective mitigation and remediation strategies are implemented. The successful individual will demonstrate a proactive, results-driven approach, focusing on efficient and cost-effective solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead emergency response initiatives, including initial assessments, real-time remedial planning, and management of subcontractors.
  • Oversee spill response operations, ensuring thorough documentation and scientific reporting throughout the remediation process.
  • Prepare reports for clients and regulatory bodies, maintaining communication with stakeholders.
  • Engage with clients and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Manage a variety of projects, primarily focusing on incidents involving fuel oil and chemical releases.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills in the field, supported by the head office.
  • Be prepared for travel and occasional evening or weekend work, with appropriate compensation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering or a related diploma with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the environmental sector, including at least two years in project management.
  • Experience in soil and groundwater remediation, including monitoring and management.
  • Familiarity with project management aspects such as invoicing and budgeting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Flexibility to work after hours or on weekends when necessary.
