Job Summary:

Xpera is seeking an experienced Environmental Response Project Manager to join our remediation and emergency response team in New Brunswick. The successful candidate will manage projects related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills, and will be responsible for mitigating losses, remediating sites, and supporting clients in closing their files in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage emergency response activities, including initial investigation, real-time remedial planning, retaining and managing sub-contractors, cost control, field supervision, and documentation.
  • Project manage contractors in the field and document the remediation process.
  • Prepare client and regulatory reports, and liaise with regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with clients and participate in business development activities.
  • Manage a wide variety of projects, primarily involving transportation losses involving diesel fuel or domestic/commercial fuel oil releases.
  • Make decisions in the field with support from head office.
  • Travel periodically and work evenings and weekends, for which you will be compensated.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental or Earth Sciences preferred) or related diploma with applicable experience.
  • A minimum of five years' experience within the environmental field with at least two years of project management experience.
  • Experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects, including delineation, monitoring, and management.
  • Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to work after hours on weekends when required.
