About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional fundraising executive to join our team as Director of Philanthropic Engagement at Compassion Canada. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, families, and communities around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deepen, and diversify strategic individual partnerships to advance Compassion Canada's international philanthropic objectives.
  • Spearhead strategic initiatives to engage donors, partners, and supporters in Compassion Canada's mission.
  • Leverage exceptional communication skills to craft compelling narratives that resonate with supporters' values and inspire them to act.
  • Develop innovative fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with major donors, and forge partnerships with foundations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to leverage collective strengths and resources in support of fundraising initiatives.
  • Report directly to the Chief Programs & Partnerships Officer and contribute to the Partner Relations Leadership Team.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of soliciting and securing major donor funding (six and seven figure gifts).
  • Exceptional planning abilities, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire donors and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector and Canada Revenue Agency fundraising rules and guidelines.
  • Experience developing and leading a similar department, utilizing a range of donation efforts, campaigns, and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Office365) and experience with customer relationship management and database/reporting software.
  • Ability to travel frequently nationally and internationally.
  • Fluency in English language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education and/or professional designation in fundraising or other related field.
  • CFRE certification.
  • Existing relationships and a positive reputation in the not-for-profit fundraising sector.
  • Continuous learning credentials in area of expertise.
  • French language fluency.
