Role Overview:

This pivotal leadership position is responsible for formulating and executing IPG's strategic and business development initiatives in Canada, with a primary focus on large-scale capital projects overseen by EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms. The role entails direct management of Strategic Account Managers nationwide and oversight of the Ontario sales region.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:

  • Craft B2B vertical market strategies targeting Canadian businesses.
  • Identify and recommend suitable sub-segments and markets for pursuit.
  • Develop market entry strategies in collaboration with the Project Management team on product and pricing approaches.
  • Design and implement sales campaigns within specified market channels.

Leadership and Management:

  • Transform the organization towards vertical sales structures.
  • Provide guidance, communication, and coaching to direct reports across Canada.
  • Foster a culture of trust, teamwork, accountability, and self-assurance.

New Business Development:

  • Oversee a national sales pipeline to ensure the achievement of sales objectives utilizing corporate CRM systems.
  • Manage personal sales territory in Ontario.
  • Explore new opportunities and prospects through various channels.
  • Lead key negotiations with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Extensive sales experience with a proven record of success in wholesale distribution and EPC markets.
  • Experience in building relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • High professionalism with a strong sense of urgency and results-driven approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical products, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and cables.
  • Experience in construction project sales within Oil and Gas, Metals and Mining, Power, or Industrial sectors.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong influencing capabilities.
  • Adaptability to work in diverse and occasionally complex environments.
  • Experience in managing teams in both direct and matrix structures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
