Position Overview

The Reference Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in identifying, gathering, and analyzing data sources to ensure the integrity and quality of information within the organization. This position is integral to the operational success of the Chief Data Office (CDO), focusing on the maintenance and accuracy of reference data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on RBC's Business and Client Classification, offering insights and guidance across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to enhance the content related to business and client classification.
  • Address inquiries in a timely manner, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate information.
  • Analyze and organize data, including large datasets, to support operational needs.
  • Update reference data and integrate new tables into the internal database.
  • Maintain documentation and reference materials on the internal RBC Intranet site.
  • Participate in the resolution of data-related issues and contribute to the development of action plans.
  • Engage in agile methodologies, utilizing tools like JIRA to manage both routine tasks and project objectives.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a business services or operational role.
  • Ability to improve processes in a highly regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with RBC systems and risk management processes.
  • General understanding of business and client classification frameworks.
  • Experience with JIRA in an Agile context.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Background in client-facing roles or experience in credit, risk, or operational functions.
  • Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
