We are currently looking for a HR Data Analyst to join our Corporate HR team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager, HR Process & Analytics, the HR Data Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with HR and Business team members across Emera's international operating companies to develop reporting and provide analytics expertise in support of our talent and business strategy.

Potential projects could encompass the creation of informative dashboards using BI software, deriving insights on workforce trends through statistical and quantitative approaches, manipulating data using Excel and Python, and writing clear and concise reports for business leaders. The HR Data Analyst serves as a cross-functional subject matter expert to the Corporate HR group, continuously assessing our data for insights, innovation of processes, and industry trends.
Key elements of this role include:

Support and assist in developing a data strategy for the business;Serve as a subject matter expert in HR Data and Analytics, Technology, and related processes;Manage the delivery of analytics and insights by compiling and analyzing large sets of workforce data (e.g. headcount, recruitment, development, turnover, hires, promotions, diversity, exit interviews, workforce demographic, engagement);Understand our business processes and translate them into measurable data or reporting requirements including content, frequency, and data source;Review reporting processes and its results to ensure value and customer satisfaction;Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve while creating efficiencies;Provide input into the design of new systems and applications, participate in testing and support deployment to our end users.Perform addition ad hoc tasks or duties in support of the team and wider organisation.
These skills will make you successful:

A Bachelor's Degree in a Data Science-related field: preferably with a quantitative focus, such as Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science or equivalent experience;Proven analytical skills and a minimum of 2 years' of relevant experience in a data analytics/information management field;Previous experience working in a Human Resources environment and HRIS systems (e.g. Peoplesoft) would be beneficial;Strong proficiency in MS Excel including experience with advanced formulas, Excel VBA/macros, Python, SQL;Previous experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, including Tableau Prep Builder and Tableau Server, considered an asset;A self-motivated individual who brings strong time management skills and takes pride in producing a high quality work, paying attention to the details.Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to present to a diverse group in a compelling and influential manner;Superior decision making and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop, recommend and implement innovative solutions;A strong collaborator and team player who excels at facilitating outcomes with the needs of various stakeholders in mind while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment while meeting deadlines;Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
