The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA) is at the forefront of health promotion, early detection, treatment, and research for cancer, serving approximately 10,000 patients each year across our two cancer centers. Our radiation oncology services specifically cater to around 2,400 patients annually, emphasizing our commitment to delivering safe, patient-centered care through collaborative teamwork.

Our Radiation Therapy department employs a variety of advanced radiation techniques, which include:

  • Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT)
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
  • High dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy
  • Pediatric radiation oncology

We utilize state-of-the-art equipment for treatment delivery and planning, such as:

  • Varian linacs (including TrueBeams and iX models)
  • Siemens Confidence CT
  • HDR Brachytherapy-Oncentra
  • In-house 3D printing capabilities for clinical applications

Position Overview: The Radiation Therapist I is responsible for preparing and administering ionizing radiation treatments to patients as directed by a Radiation Oncologist. This role includes conducting patient assessments and providing education regarding treatment and potential side effects. The Radiation Therapist I reports to the Site Manager of Radiation Therapy and works under the supervision of a Radiation Therapist II.

Applicants must possess a degree or diploma in Radiation Therapy and hold a certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)-C. Eligibility for licensure with the Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists is required. Previous experience is not necessary.

The salary range for this position is between $46.89 and $53.58 per hour. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with employees entitled to one Earned Day Off (EDO) every three weeks. We also provide financial reimbursement options for relocation expenses.
