Research Administration and Operations Director

Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage the research administration and operations team, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of research projects and programs.
- Collaborate closely with researchers to encourage, facilitate, support, and coordinate research projects, aligning them with CancerCare Manitoba's cancer and blood disorders research priorities.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance research operations, leveraging expertise and resources to drive innovation and excellence.
- Master's level degree in a health or science-related discipline, with a strong foundation in research administration and operations.
- At least 7 years of experience working in a research/medical laboratory or other research environment, with a proven track record of leadership and collaboration.
- Excellent risk mitigation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and formulate recommendations to senior leadership.
- Strong business acumen, including finance and budgeting, with an understanding of necessary legal and regulatory documents related to research.
- Doctorate level degree in a health- or science-related discipline, with expertise in research administration and operations.
- Master of Business Administration, or equivalent, with a focus on strategic management and leadership.
- Experience managing laboratory and/or research operations in a healthcare facility, with a proven ability to drive innovation and excellence.
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment, with the ability to lift and carry items as needed.
- Must be able to respond to interruptions and adapt to changing priorities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a satisfactory employment record and be legally able to work in Canada.
- Ability to speak French, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
