About the Role

The Manager, Annual Giving is a key position within the Advancement and Alumni Engagement department at Simon Fraser University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase private support for the university's academic, research, and engagement priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a business plan and budget for SFU's Direct Response Programs, which includes calling, direct mail, email, and monthly giving.
  • Manage the evening and weekend operations of the Calling Campaign, including supervision of approximately 30 temporary staff.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Annual Giving to develop and implement fundraising strategies and goals.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for Student Leaders and Student Callers.
  • Exercise discretion in donor solicitation and contact.
  • Work simultaneously on a variety of complex projects within tight deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in fundraising, business planning, budget management, staff supervision, and event management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Good knowledge of Direct Response fundraising strategies, including direct mail and email solicitation programs.
  • Good knowledge of fundraising databases and calling software.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and coach Student Leaders and Student Callers.
  • Ability to develop and conduct training programs.
  • Ability to exercise discretion in donor solicitation and contact.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of complex projects within tight deadlines.
