GARDENWORKS Ltd. is a leading garden centre company with a passion for connecting people to the natural world through plants.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team in the Annual Plants category.
Key Responsibilities- Sales and Service: Provide outstanding customer service and build sales by sharing knowledge and expertise with guests.
- Buying and Merchandising: Source and curate a timely assortment of annual plants, manage inventory, and achieve target gross profit margins.
- Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain optimal vendor relationships to secure the best prices, quality, and service levels.
- Inventory Management: Receive and inspect plant material, ensure accurate pricing, and maintain product health.
- Store Displays: Collaborate with the store merchandising team to create visually appealing end cap displays that inspire guests.
- Team Leadership: Foster a positive and fun work environment, recognizing and rewarding team members for their contributions.
- Passion for Horticulture: Strong knowledge and passion for the horticulture industry, with a good understanding of sourcing and buying live plants.
- Customer Service: 3+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
- Organization and Time Management: Strong organization skills, self-directed, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and utilizing a POS system for sales reporting.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50lbs, work in various weather conditions, and extended periods of walking and standing.
