About the Role

The Maintenance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mill. Reporting to the General Manager, this position will provide guidance and support to the maintenance team while driving the development and implementation of strategic long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety within the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with all safety programs and protocols.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, including productivity, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to maintenance team members, including Superintendents and Supervisors.
  • Collaborate with other departmental managers to ensure maintenance needs are met and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Focus on preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability.
  • Manage the Maintenance budget, establishing priorities and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate work with outside inspections, providing project management and ensuring safety of personnel.
  • Work closely with HR on recruitment activities for the Maintenance department, participating in interviews and hiring decisions.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, plus five years of experience in mill engineering, planning, or maintenance departments.
  • Five years of supervisory experience, with a proven ability to provide leadership and direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A high level of understanding of all trades within the department and mill operating maintenance procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $120,000-$150,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
