This organization is involved in the exploration, extraction, transportation, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. It operates across several sectors: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream sector encompasses exploration, field development, and production of crude oil and natural gas. The Downstream sector is dedicated to refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemical products, along with related services for both international and domestic clients. The Corporate sector provides essential support services, including human resources, finance, and IT. The company has a rich history and is headquartered in a strategic location.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional in real-time optimization to enhance our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) initiatives. At GME, we deliver exceptional technical support to refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical facilities globally. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice and support in optimizing operations through real-time optimization technologies. You will spearhead improvement initiatives across all operational departments within our Global Manufacturing Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align real-time optimization goals with corporate objectives, develop best practices, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance performance.
  • Execute real-time optimizations in refinery operations to boost efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Examine data from diverse sources, including process variables and control systems, to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
  • Implement advanced process control methodologies to optimize refinery operations and maximize product yield.
  • Lead the formulation of new strategies, feasibility assessments, and established business cases.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and vendors to devise and implement real-time optimization solutions.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot real-time optimization systems to ensure seamless and reliable operations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in real-time optimization techniques and technologies to perpetually enhance refinery operations.
  • Provide technical support and training on real-time optimization systems and processes to engineers, operators, and other personnel.
  • Conduct periodic assessments and evaluations to measure the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety, environmental, and reliability risks associated with real-time optimization processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement long-term improvement strategies for refinery operations.
  • Conduct benchmarks, business case studies, and pilot evaluations of new advanced process control technologies, including Machine Learning and AI, to contribute to yield enhancement.
  • Facilitate technical sessions such as design reviews, model assessments, and commissioning.
  • Lead pre-and post-performance baseline evaluations.
  • Evaluate plant operations and recommend actions for enhancements and system optimization.
  • Review standards and General Instructions for the GME departments and act as a leading Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Qualifications:

  • Relocation Requirement: This position necessitates the candidate to permanently relocate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control or Real-time Optimization.
  • Proven expertise in advanced process control solutions and refinery economics.
  • A comprehensive understanding of refinery facilities, feedstock/product movements, margins, giveaways, process yields, and mass and energy balances is essential.
  • Familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process solutions.
  • Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams.
