Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional in real-time optimization to enhance our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) initiatives. The GME team provides premier technical assistance to refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical facilities owned by the organization and its affiliates globally. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver expert insights and support aimed at optimizing operations through real-time optimization technologies. You will spearhead improvement projects across all operational departments within our Global Manufacturing Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align real-time optimization goals with corporate objectives, establish best practices, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance operational performance.
  • Execute real-time optimizations in refinery processes to boost efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Evaluate data from diverse sources, including process variables and control systems, to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
  • Deploy advanced process control methodologies to refine refinery operations and maximize product yield.
  • Guide the formulation of new strategies, feasibility assessments, and business case development.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and suppliers to devise and implement real-time optimization solutions.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot real-time optimization systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in real-time optimization technologies to continually enhance refinery operations.
  • Provide technical training and support on real-time optimization systems and processes to engineers and operators.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety, environmental, and reliability risks associated with real-time optimization processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and execute long-term improvement strategies for refinery operations.
  • Perform benchmarks, business case analyses, and pilot evaluations of innovative process control technologies such as Machine Learning and AI to drive yield improvements.
  • Lead technical discussions including design reviews and commissioning processes.
  • Conduct pre-and post-performance evaluations.
  • Assess plant operations and recommend optimization actions.
  • Review standards and guidelines for GME departments and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Qualifications:

  • Relocation Requirement: This position necessitates the candidate to permanently relocate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control or Real-time Optimization.
  • Proven expertise in advanced process control solutions and refinery economics.
  • A thorough understanding of refinery operations, feedstock/product movements, margins, and process yields is essential.
  • Familiarity with international standards for advanced process control modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities in advanced process solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively guide technical discussions and teams.
