We are currently seeking a Full-Time HR Operations Specialist to become an integral part of our Total Rewards team. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact between the hospital, our workforce, and our benefits and pension providers. Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you oversee the employee life cycle and address inquiries related to benefits, pensions, compensation, and total rewards for a diverse portfolio that includes unionized, non-union, and management staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate management of the employee life cycle in compliance with hospital policies, collective agreements, and legislative guidelines.
  • Provide expert advice and support to staff and leadership regarding benefits and pension administration, various leave of absence types, and retirement options.
  • Evaluate and process claims for prior experience, adjusting employee salaries as necessary.
  • Maintain the integrity of HRIS data and conduct system audits to ensure quality.
  • Oversee and manage employer perks programs effectively.
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma in Human Resources.
  • A minimum of two years of HR experience in a unionized setting is required.
  • Proven experience in administering pension and benefits programs.
  • Familiarity with payroll procedures and CRA guidelines is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with flexibility to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Awareness of privacy legislation, including the Freedom of Information and Personal Privacy Act.
