Human Resources Specialist

Overview:

Humber River Health is a pioneering healthcare institution committed to transforming the patient experience through innovative practices and technology. We are currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Human Resources Specialist to enhance our Total Rewards team. This role is essential in bridging communication between the hospital, our workforce, and our benefits and pension providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the employee life cycle meticulously, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and collective agreements.
  • Provide expert guidance to staff and management regarding benefits administration, pension plans, and various leave options.
  • Evaluate and adjust employee compensation based on prior experience and claims.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate HRIS data and conduct system audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Administer and promote employer perks programs effectively.
  • Participate in various projects and initiatives as needed to support HR functions.

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources within a unionized setting.
  • Proven experience in administering benefits and pension programs.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and CRA guidelines is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and time management skills, with the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Employment Standards Act and Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Awareness of privacy legislation such as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
