Restaurant General Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Restaurant General Manager to join our team at Oliver & Bonacini. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the overall success of our restaurant, including managing staff, maintaining high standards of service and quality, and driving sales and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of servers, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen staff
    • Manage staff schedules, time-off requests, and performance evaluations
    • Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones to ensure open communication and address any concerns or issues
  • Service and Quality
    • Ensure exceptional customer service and high-quality food and beverage offerings
    • Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Operations and Administration
    • Manage restaurant finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling costs
    • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Marketing and Sales
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales and revenue growth
    • Build relationships with local suppliers and vendors to negotiate better prices and terms
    • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a restaurant management role, preferably in a fine dining environment
  • Proven track record of success in managing staff, driving sales, and maintaining high standards of service and quality
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Post-secondary degree in Hospitality Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
