Key Responsibilities
  • Verify that all data and documentation supporting the creation of damage claim invoices are accurate and complete, ensuring proper reconciliation and validation for invoice approvals.
  • Prepare and distribute timely billing to customers, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and necessary approvals.
  • Manage the distribution of customer invoices along with relevant supporting documents, and prepare detailed invoice breakdowns upon request.
  • Maintain and update claims interactions in our online systems; generate queries and reports, and ensure all related information is current.
  • Process claim-related work orders and notifications while maintaining data integrity.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve customer disputes, create supporting documentation for billing arrangements, and apply discounts as necessary.
  • Address inquiries from internal and external customers through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Handle all claims under $5000.00 independently.
  • Assist in recovering damages incurred on company assets, including mains, services, and meters, and manage claims against the organization.
  • Work collaboratively to gather claim information, communicating with claimants and external agencies as needed.
  • Support the assessment and payment processes for claims involving the organization.
  • Provide assistance in the investigation and information gathering for all claims files.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning documents, preparing correspondence, and managing invoices and reminders.
  • Carry out minor duties related to the above responsibilities that do not impact the job rating.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma with a post-secondary education certificate in a legal field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably in an Operations Support role or within an insurance and claims environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal/non-verbal communication abilities, capable of handling challenging customer situations with professionalism.
  • Effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient written communication skills, capable of composing various types of correspondence and processing inquiries.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external contacts, contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills (60 words per minute), with the ability to format diverse documents and reports.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and applications, including SAP and MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of field operations processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources.

  • Prior to the interview, a comprehensive employee record review will be conducted, including attendance and personnel file assessments.
  • This position is governed by the FortisBC/MoveUP Collective Agreement.
