Your Role: Damage Claims Specialist

As a Damage Claims Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for damages incurred on FortisBC assets. You will be responsible for investigating claims, processing invoices, and resolving customer disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Processing & Documentation: Accurately record and process damage claim information, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and validated. Prepare detailed invoice breakdowns and distribute them to customers.
  • Customer Communication: Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding claims, providing clear explanations and resolving issues effectively.
  • Claim Investigation & Resolution: Conduct thorough investigations into damage claims, gathering information from various sources and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Billing & Collections: Prepare accurate invoices for damages incurred on FortisBC assets and manage the collection process for outstanding payments.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of all claim-related activities within our systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies.

Your Qualifications:

  • High School diploma plus a post-secondary education certificate in a legal field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role, such as an Operations Support Representative or within the insurance claims industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations diplomatically and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relevant data management systems.
