Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data and information required for damage claim invoice creation, facilitating invoice approvals and generation.
  • Prepare timely billing for customers, reviewing billing information for consistency, accuracy, and necessary approvals.
  • Distribute customer invoices along with appropriate supporting documentation, and prepare detailed invoice breakdowns upon request.
  • Maintain and update claims interactions in online systems; generate queries and reports, ensuring all related information is current.
  • Process claim-related work orders and notifications, ensuring data integrity throughout.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve customer disputes, creating necessary documentation for billing arrangements and applying discounts as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage claims valued under $5000.00.
  • Assist in recovering damages incurred on company assets, including mains, services, and meters, for minor claims.
  • Work collaboratively to gather claim information, communicating with claimants and external agencies as necessary.
  • Support the assessment and payment of claims involving the company.
  • Provide assistance in investigating and gathering information for all claims files.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning documents, preparing correspondence, invoices, and reminder notices.
  • Carry out minor duties related to the above responsibilities that do not impact the job's rating.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma plus a post-secondary education certificate in a legal field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably in an Operations Support Representative role or within an insurance and claims environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and non-verbal communication abilities, capable of handling challenging customer situations with professionalism.
  • Effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure during peak periods.
  • Proficient written communication skills, capable of preparing various types of correspondence and processing inquiries.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external contacts, contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Fast and accurate keyboarding skills (60 words per minute), with the ability to format various documents and reports.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and applications, including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of field operations processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Aptitude for interpreting data from diverse sources.

  • Prior to the interview, a comprehensive employee record review will be conducted, including attendance and personnel file assessments.
  • This position is governed by the FortisBC/MoveUP Collective Agreement.
