Position Overview
In the role of Area Sales Director - Canada Market Area, you will take charge of guiding, coaching, and nurturing a high-achieving team of Sales Managers and Sales Professionals. If you have a passion for leadership, vibrant energy, and a strong drive for success, this position is tailored for you. The Sales Director plays a crucial role in fostering the growth and development of the sales team, which generates over $400 million in annual revenue. You are expected to exhibit leadership and accountability for sales outcomes and all sales-related functions, including follow-up and accurate sales administration, in accordance with Sales Effectiveness and Sales Segmentation principles. The Canada Market Area encompasses Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.

This position is based in Ontario and necessitates 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities
To thrive in this role, an individual must effectively perform in the following areas:

  • Prioritize both the quality and quantity of sales outcomes.
  • Enhance new business initiatives while ensuring the retention and expansion of the existing customer base; the focus is on maximizing profitable revenue growth across the Area.
  • Develop and implement the Area sales strategy in alignment with the Corporate Sales function, collaborating closely with Market Sales Managers, Operations, Area Pricing teams, and other relevant Corporate and Area resources.
  • Achieve or surpass sales, pricing, and cost management targets as established by the Company and the Area.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing sales team, adhering to processes related to talent coaching and development, activity management, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct engagement and feedback solicitation.
  • Lead, train, monitor, and inspire the sales team.
  • Analyze sales and revenue reports to draw insights and actions. Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue streams.
  • Stay informed about competitive dynamics and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other Districts, Area, and Corporate management to maximize collaborative value.
  • Continuously develop talent through hands-on recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this role involves leading managerial employees, which includes:

  • Direct supervision of 10+ full-time employees.
  • Indirect supervision of 120+ full-time employees.

Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the necessary credentials to perform the job:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) with four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of prior experience (in addition to the educational requirement).

Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French (written and spoken) is an asset.
