Position Title: Integrated Digital Delivery Coordinator

This position is designed to assist the Senior Manager of Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) in achieving seamless Integrated Digital Delivery results, ensuring that vital information is effectively communicated and coordinated among various engineering disciplines and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze site conditions prior to the commencement of construction activities.
  • Generate phased site development drawings in both 2-D and 3-D formats for construction purposes.
  • Facilitate the design coordination of utilities, civil, nuclear, industrial, and UTS projects.
  • Establish and maintain corridors, sections, and profiles for rail and road design alignments.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs utilizing cut/fill tracking and XML surface extractions.
  • Support the IDD Director/Manager or project BIM lead in assigning appropriate activities to the consultant supply chain's Information Managers.
  • Prepare coordination reports detailing the interactions between engineering disciplines and construction activities throughout the IDD process.
  • Oversee the development of designs for construction through IDD methodologies, ensuring sustainability, digital engineering, and health and safety considerations are prioritized.
  • Conduct training workshops on IDD tools to empower team members in fulfilling their responsibilities aligned with Aecon's IDD Strategy.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to create tailored processes for utilizing or generating 3D information for various project needs.
  • Work closely with field superintendents, design engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure constructability requirements are met.
  • Develop project-specific protocols for communication and data exchange to guarantee interoperability.
  • Guide consultants and trades through multiple project phases using Digital logistic construction management processes.
  • Assist in drafting project-specific contract language for tender packages related to 3D submissions and as-builts.
  • Review and manage the creation of Project Information Models.
  • Handle project deployment tasks, including software installation, CAD exchange environment setup, and providing basic training and support to project teams.
  • Champion 3D coordination on active job sites, acting as a liaison among project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain the Master Project BIM database.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to improve processes and efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Relevant educational background and industry experience.
  • Experience in 3-D modeling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D in a professional civil design context.
  • Familiarity with BIM authoring tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bentley.
  • Knowledge of 4D platforms like Navisworks Simulate and Synchro.
  • Understanding of Common Data Environments including ProjectWise, Procore, ACC, and Aconex.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience across all project lifecycle stages is advantageous.
  • Experience in construction project environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with large, complex infrastructure projects is desirable.
  • Understanding of design and construction phases in alignment with Digital Plans.
  • Project experience with BIM process implementation is beneficial.
  • On-site construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability in priority setting, multitasking, and working independently.
