We are seeking a highly skilled Delivery Lead to join our Global Wealth Management Technology team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of digital solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project dependencies and impediments, ensuring timely delivery of business value to customers.
- Guide and coach teams to follow Agile methodologies, facilitating discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of project risks, ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions.
- Conduct regular assessments of team Agile maturity, providing guidance to improve performance.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and longer-term planning exercises, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support the Product Owner in story grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks using Agile best practices and project deliverables.
- Forecast deliverables based on evidence and reliable sources, creating useful, reliable, and practical plans for software development projects.
- Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance, velocity, stories completed, and project status.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure alignment of budgets, spend, and forecasts, supporting budget tracking and variance mitigation efforts.
- Coordinate operation readiness activities with associated teams, overseeing and coordinating software release activities.
- Participate actively in defining product backlog, aligning to overall product architecture and technical design.
- Regularly communicate with other scrum teams to ensure tactical story alignment and identify/track dependencies between teams.
- Knowledge of Lean principles, eliminating waste, focusing on value delivery, small batch production, frequent delivery of working software, adapting to change.
- Understanding of backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban-based metrics, task definition, story splitting.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques – Automated Testing, User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Testing, etc.
- Good working knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs.
- Familiarity with common development practices, service-oriented environments, and Agile practices.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working experience in JIRA/Confluence.
- Experience with System Design and working independently of Architect on creating pragmatic solutions to technical problems, working with the scrum team.
- Working experience in a Digital solutions team in the Finance industry is an asset.
- Hands-on experience leading release management activities for successful delivery of product launches.
- Strong understanding of Wealth/Brokerage business is an asset.
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5 years of Scrum Master experience and/or leading large cross-functional/cross-regional teams on major organizational projects.
