Position Title: Integrated Digital Delivery Coordinator

This position will assist the Senior Manager of Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) in achieving Integrated Digital Delivery objectives, ensuring that information is effectively communicated and coordinated across various engineering disciplines, organizations, and project packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze site conditions prior to the commencement of construction activities.
  • Create phased site development drawings in both 2-D and 3-D formats for construction purposes.
  • Coordinate the design aspects of utilities, civil, nuclear, industrial, and UTS projects.
  • Establish and maintain corridors, sections, and profiles for rail and road design alignments.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs utilizing cut/fill tracking and XML surface extractions.
  • Support the IDD Director/Manager or project BIM lead in assigning appropriate activities to the consultant supply chain's Information Managers.
  • Generate coordination reports detailing the interactions between engineering disciplines and design/construction activities through the IDD process.
  • Oversee the development of designs to construction through IDD methodologies such as 5D/4D, focusing on sustainability, digital engineering, buildability, logistics, and health and safety considerations.
  • Facilitate training workshops on IDD tools to empower team members in fulfilling their responsibilities related to Aecon's IDD Strategy.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to create project-specific processes for utilizing or generating 3D information for various project needs.
  • Work alongside field superintendents, construction managers, and design engineers to ensure constructability requirements are met.
  • Develop project-specific protocols for communication and data exchange to ensure interoperability.
  • Guide consultants and trades through different project phases using digital logistics construction management processes.
  • Assist in drafting project-specific contract language for tender packages regarding 3D submissions and as-builts for facilities management.
  • Review and manage the creation of Project Information Models.
  • Handle project deployment tasks, including software installation, CAD exchange environment setup, and providing basic training and support to project teams.
  • Champion 3D coordination on active job sites, acting as a liaison among project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain the Master Project BIM database.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to improve processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Relevant educational background and industry experience.
  • Experience in 3-D modeling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D in a professional civil design setting.
  • Familiarity with BIM authoring tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bentley.
  • Experience with 4D platforms like Navisworks Simulate and Synchro.
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environments including ProjectWise, Procore, ACC, and Aconex.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices and standards.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience across all project lifecycle stages is preferred.
  • Background in construction project environments is desirable.
  • Experience with large, complex infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Understanding of design and construction phases in alignment with Digital Plans.
  • Project experience in implementing BIM processes.
  • On-site construction experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work independently.
