The Quality Assurance Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing testing processes for GFRT applications and systems. This includes evaluating requirements and design documentation, developing and reviewing testing strategies, and contributing to comprehensive test documentation. The Analyst will also participate in daily testing activities, closely monitoring progress and assessing defects, while balancing risk mitigation with optimal resource utilization in accordance with Best Practices, Methodologies, Guiding Principles, Standards, and Procedures.

The QA Testing Specialist must thrive under tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities and evolving requirements. Quick reactions to resolve issues, willingness to work overtime, and the ability to implement systems with minimal disruption to business users are essential.

In this role, you will assess multiple overlapping projects with strict timelines, identify outstanding issues that may affect the promotion of initiatives to the Production environment, and provide recommendations to minimize associated risks. You will prepare test evaluations and make recommendations for code promotion to the Production environment, ensuring the highest quality of service in financial process delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the testing team and project members, providing ongoing support and knowledge transfer to enhance performance.
  • Maintain a stable and professional environment while ensuring departmental objectives are met.
  • Coordinate testing activities with other departments and interpret detailed information from technical support staff.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of solutions for complex business applications with intricate integration needs across various technology disciplines.
  • Provide insights to the project team to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of quality assurance processes.
  • Handle complex problems with limited management direction.

Do you possess the skills necessary for success in this role?

  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a role related to Corporate Financial Reporting or Regulatory Systems with multiple integration points.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Integrated Systems testing and business application testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of interacting with Senior Management and delivering presentations.
  • Proficient in SQL with experience in writing complex backend queries for testing purposes.
  • Able to address project-related issues and conflicts during the testing cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning for quality application delivery.
  • Familiarity with HP Quality Center (HPQC) 11.52, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Experience in report validation and reconciliation.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to changing priorities.
  • Independent, responsible, accountable, results-driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of systems design (Agile, Waterfall) and a solid understanding of SDLC, QA, and integration testing methodologies.
  • An undergraduate degree or college diploma in Accounting, or certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant is an asset. Any testing certification is also beneficial.
