About the Team

The Global Finance & Risk Technology (GFRT) Quality Assurance team is tasked with evaluating the applications within GFRT. Our mission is to assess the quality and risk associated with any modifications or enhancements to the applications under GFRT, which include Finance, Risk, and Capital applications, ensuring thorough testing prior to implementation for our Executive Teams worldwide.

Is this position a fit for you?

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance, the QA Specialist will oversee and review testing for GFRT applications and systems. This includes evaluating requirements and design documentation, developing and reviewing test strategies, and contributing to comprehensive test documentation while participating in daily testing activities. You will closely monitor testing progress and assess defects, balancing risk mitigation with optimal resource utilization while adhering to established Best Practices, Methodologies, Guiding Principles, Standards, and Procedures.
  • The QA Specialist must thrive under tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and adapt to changing requirements. Quick reaction to issues is essential, along with the willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines and implement systems with minimal disruption to business users.
  • Evaluate multiple, overlapping projects with stringent timelines and identify outstanding issues that could impact the promotion of initiatives to the Production environment, providing recommendations to minimize associated risks. Prepare test evaluations and offer recommendations for code promotion to the Production environment while ensuring the highest quality of service in financial process delivery.
  • Guide the testing team and project members, consisting of analysts with varying levels of expertise, providing ongoing support for current initiatives, knowledge transfer, and assistance to enhance individual performance.
  • Contribute to maintaining a stable and professional environment while ensuring departmental objectives are understood and achieved.
  • Assist in coordinating testing activities with other departments and interpret detailed information from technical support staff. Participate in forward-planning sessions and resolve conflicts between initiatives.
  • Support the successful implementation of solutions for systems and projects, addressing highly complex business applications with intricate integration needs across various technology disciplines.
  • Provide input to the project team to incrementally enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of quality assurance.
  • Work with limited management direction and tackle extremely complex problems.

Do you possess the skills necessary for success in this role?

  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role related to Corporate Financial Reporting or Regulatory Systems with multiple integration points to various databases/systems for data feeds is highly desired.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Integrated Systems testing and business application testing.
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to engage with Senior Management; capable of delivering presentations or providing status updates.
  • Proficient SQL skills and prior experience in crafting complex backend queries for test execution.
  • Ability to address all project-related issues and conflicts within the testing cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning to ensure the delivery of quality applications.
  • Familiarity with HP Quality Center (HPQC) 11.52, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Experience in report validation and reconciliation.
  • Capacity to adapt swiftly to changing priorities.
  • Independent, responsible, accountable, results-driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of systems design (Agile, Waterfall) and a solid understanding of SDLC, QA, and integration testing methodologies.
  • An undergraduate degree or college diploma in Accounting, certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant, or a related discipline is a plus. Any testing certification is also beneficial.
