Position Overview

The Assistant Manager at Dairy Queen plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within a bustling dining environment. This permanent position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week and is ideal for individuals with a secondary school graduation certificate and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

Located in an urban area, this role involves managing a budget ranging from $500,001 to $1,500,000. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for enhancing the restaurant's profitability through careful analysis and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial reports to improve and sustain restaurant profits.
  • Evaluate and refine daily operations for efficiency.
  • Adjust food preparation techniques and menu pricing in line with budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor revenue streams to manage labor costs effectively.
  • Supervise and assess staff performance.
  • Organize and direct daily operational activities.
  • Recruit and schedule staff appropriately.
  • Train and mentor team members.
  • Implement operational procedures and determine service offerings.
  • Conduct cash balancing and complete financial documentation.
  • Perform staff performance evaluations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for food and other necessary supplies.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
Supervisory Role

This position involves supervising a team of 3-4 individuals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Safe Food Handling certificate is required.
  • Proficient in using electronic cash registers, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and point of sale systems.
  • Experience with spreadsheets is essential.
