Youth Support Specialist - Housing Services

Are you dedicated to fostering safe and welcoming environments for LGBTQ2S+ youth? As a Youth Support Specialist, your role will involve assisting individuals aged 16-24 in finding temporary housing solutions while also strategizing for sustainable living arrangements. You will collaborate with various community partners, engage with stakeholders, and connect youth with landlords, ensuring they have access to essential support services and group activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with at-risk populations
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in a related discipline
  • Understanding of LGBTQ2S+ issues and trauma-informed practices
  • Capability to address the multifaceted challenges faced by vulnerable youth
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct case management meetings
  • Assist youth in acquiring essential life skills
  • Provide crisis support and individualized assistance
  • Build constructive relationships with youth and community stakeholders
  • Maintain safe and hygienic living conditions
