Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Experience

  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer experiences and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide outstanding service across all channels, including in-store and e-commerce, and meet defined service level expectations.

Operations and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards, store maintenance, and pricing standards to ensure a consistent and appealing store environment.
  • Lead the execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve annual corporate shrink targets through team education, enforcement of loss prevention and audit standards, and rigorous inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures related to loss prevention, cash handling, and occupational health and safety.
  • Oversee the execution of technical services programs, including maintenance and compliance standards.
  • Create efficient store schedules for sales and support functions.

Training and Development

  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to management and team members based on key performance metrics and observed behaviors through regular check-ins and performance management coaching programs.
  • Develop and implement development plans for staff, provide coaching to improve performance gaps, and conduct ongoing coaching to enhance team performance.

Leadership and Ambassadorship

  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the Sport Chek brand, programs, and people internally and externally.
  • Effectively problem-solve, delegate tasks, and follow up on assignments to team members.
  • Maintain Sport Chek performance management expectations, including providing feedback, coaching, and progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Promote and maintain a positive and motivating work environment that is safe, inclusive, and empowering.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop department and store teams through setting expectations, communication, coaching, feedback, and ongoing support.
  • Results-driven with the ability to build and manage daily and weekly game plans for the department and store.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Superior training and mentoring skills.
  • 3-5 years of retail management experience required.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a drive to succeed.
  • Basic computer skills required.
