About the Role

As a Department Head at SiteOne Landscape Supply, you will be responsible for leading the Irrigation department as an expert in the field. You will work closely with customers to ensure excellence in sales and operations planning, statistical demand forecasting, and integration of supply and demand plans.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Branch Manager in developing and implementing sales and operations strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their expectations.
  3. Lead by example in promoting a safe and incident-free work environment, emphasizing the importance of safety daily.
  4. Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and executing policies.
  5. Understand and execute the principles of inventory management, target customer mix, and sales to optimize departmental performance.
  6. Create a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among employees.
  7. Train and develop agronomic staff to be knowledgeable of the Irrigation product line and customer needs to support achievement of departmental sales goals.
  8. Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways of working to improve business performance.
  9. Support other branch departments and customers as needed.

Requirements

  1. 1-3 years of experience in the green industry and an understanding of irrigation products, preferred.
  2. Excellent customer service and management skills.
  3. Experience with sales and operations planning and forecasting.
  4. Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets.
  5. Ready and willing to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working.
  6. For Internal Candidates Only: Line of Business (LOB) Certification Level I or higher, preferred.
  7. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  8. High school diploma or equivalent.
