About the Role:

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Full-Time Community Development Manager to join our dedicated Donor Relations & Field Operations team.

The Donor Relations & Field Operations team plays a crucial role in supporting Canadian Blood Services by generating leads, cultivating a pipeline of potential donors, fostering relationships, and ensuring the growth and sustainability of a dedicated donor base. In this capacity, you will be tasked with community engagement and upholding a positive public image for donation centers to secure ongoing community support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing your planning and communication abilities, you will organize and facilitate information sessions and recruitment presentations tailored to specific demographic groups based on community research.
  • Employing your interpersonal skills and a mindset focused on continuous improvement, you will identify and engage new donors through referrals, networking, and prospecting, while striving to enhance donor experiences and achieve feedback objectives in collaboration with donor center leadership.
  • With your networking and social media expertise, you will collaborate closely with the Regional Program Manager and Public Affairs team to execute recruitment strategies that bolster donor experience and retention, including supporting promotions, digital content, themes, and campaigns, while also serving as a media spokesperson when necessary.
  • By leveraging your ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, you will work in partnership with other leaders across the organization, particularly within the Integrated Supply Chain in the Region.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in management, sales, account management, or corporate development, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in marketing or business administration.
  • A proven track record of successfully closing opportunities and a strong drive to succeed.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and comfort in public speaking to diverse audiences.
  • A solid background in managing and delivering multifaceted projects effectively.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license is essential.
  • Familiarity with or residence in the Burlington area is preferred.

Expectations:

  • A flexible work schedule is necessary, as events may occur during the day, evening, and weekends, sometimes with short notice.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift weights up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs.), load and unload vehicles, set up venues, and endure long periods of travel and standing or sitting.
