Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and in line with UHN compensation policies
Shifts: Weekend Days with additional weekday shifts as needed
Status: Permanent Part-Time

Role Summary
As an Administrative Assistant II within the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI), you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between healthcare professionals and the imaging team. With a focus on delivering exceptional patient care, you will be part of a department that conducts over 750,000 exams annually, utilizing advanced technology and a dedicated team of specialists.

Your responsibilities will include acting as a liaison between referring physicians and medical imaging staff, ensuring the efficient flow of information and critical findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and streamline communication between referring physicians and medical imaging personnel.
  • Convey critical findings and address discrepancies to referring physicians promptly.
  • Assist in locating radiologists based on scheduling needs and provide insights on imaging procedures.
  • Facilitate appointment bookings and manage various reception duties.
  • Handle physician inquiries and manage a high volume of telephone communications.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a recognized post-secondary program in medical secretarial arts at the diploma level.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and their indications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and make sound judgments in challenging situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare office practices and standards.
  • Skilled in advanced word processing and document production.
  • Capable of organizing and maintaining electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and producing high-quality work.
  • Experience with quality assurance practices.
