Job Summary

This is a temporary full-time position that requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage patient-related tasks in a busy surgical oncology office environment. The successful candidate will have excellent time management skills, be able to prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Booking new and follow-up clinic visits, lab tests, imaging, and other procedures
  • Notifying patients and referring physicians of appointment details and test results
  • Reviewing and triaging internal and external referrals, providing referral outcomes and appointment details
  • Handling phone calls, collecting messages, and following up on needed actions
  • Managing clinic rebooking and supporting physician non-clinical administrative tasks
Requirements
  • Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • 2-3 years of related medical administrative support experience
  • Computer/word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Previous experience using EPIC and PHS or other electronic systems
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
