Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator II, Medical to join our team at the University Health Network. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage patient-related tasks, including booking appointments, entering lab tests, and scheduling imaging and other tests/procedures.
  • Notify patients and referring physicians of appointment details and test results.
  • Review and triage internal and external referrals, providing referral outcomes and appointment details to patients and/or referring physicians.
  • Manage multiple phone lines, collect messages, and follow up on necessary actions in a timely manner.
  • Rebook clinic appointments as needed and provide administrative support to physicians as required.
Requirements
  • Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
  • Two to three years of related medical administrative support experience.
  • Proficiency in computer/word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software, with experience in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Previous experience using EPIC (Electronic Patient Record) and PHS (Pathways Healthcare Scheduling) or other electronic systems is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment and collaborate with others to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Able to maintain patient confidentiality and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course or a recognized post-secondary general or medical office administration program at the diploma level or equivalent is an asset.
