Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Leasing Manager to join our team at Starlight Investments. As a key member of our leasing team, you will be responsible for driving the high performance of leasing services for our office portfolio across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and Maintain Relationships
    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with tenants, prospective tenants, local commercial brokerages, and property managers to achieve/exceed leasing milestones and overall asset management objectives.
  • Source and Qualify Prospective Tenants
    • Source and qualify prospective tenants, and engage existing tenants to compile required information to support lease recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Negotiate Lease Proposals
    • Prepare and negotiate lease proposals aligned with asset management goals, ensuring all appropriate approvals are received prior to securing binding agreements.
  • Strategically Negotiate Financial and Legal Terms
    • Strategically negotiate financial and legal terms of lease proposals, agreements, amendments, and renewals to attract/retain tenants and maximize property value.
  • Prepare Leasing Documentation
    • Effectively prepare all leasing documentation for properties, ensuring quality, accuracy, coherence, and strength of language.
  • Market Expertise
    • Be the market expert to support leasing recommendations, provide supporting research data, and ensure teams stay informed and explore opportunities aligned with the market.
  • Collaborate with Asset Manager
    • Collaborate with the Asset Manager for each property/portfolio to create and implement strategic marketing initiatives designed to target specific units and tenant mix.
  • Develop Leasing Reports
    • Develop leasing reports for internal circulation as required, including leasing activity, budgets, forecasts, market, income levels, etc.
  • Implement and Evaluate Brand and Marketing Programs
    • Implement and evaluate brand and marketing programs to generate new tenant leads and enhance business relationships with existing tenants and their representatives.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a university degree or college diploma and over two years' experience with commercial leasing. Strong business acumen, coupled with superior interpersonal, communication, and time management skills, as well as proven experience building relationships with tenants and brokers, are essential. The ability to establish strong working relationships internally, in a team-oriented environment, is also required.
