Position Overview:

The Leasing Law Clerk will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to commercial leasing within a dynamic legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and modify commercial lease agreements, including subleases, offers to lease, and related documents.
  • Coordinate and oversee lease due diligence initiatives.
  • Prepare and/or register lease notices, short forms of lease, and other relevant title documents.
  • Engage in and manage commercial lease negotiations from inception to conclusion, with guidance from a supervising attorney.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work and maintain accountability for all assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate initiative in all responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years as a Leasing Law Clerk.

Education: Successful completion of a relevant post-secondary education program in legal assistance or law clerk studies.

Certifications: ILCO certification or a commitment to pursue it.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with document comparison tools such as Workshare Compare.
  • Knowledge of Teraview.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
