Overview

The role involves supporting the Procurement Leads in optimizing the acquisition of Seed, Seed Care, Inoculant, and Crop Protection products. This position is crucial in ensuring that Simplot Grower Solutions excels in inventory management and provides the necessary resources for our network to thrive. Collaboration with the Accounting team is essential for aligning purchase orders with receipts and ensuring timely payments to our suppliers.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Acquisition and Distribution
  • Collaborate with Procurement Leads to oversee and manage inventory levels and logistics to retail locations, enhancing warehouse efficiency and profitability.
  • Track aging inventory across various locations.
  • Input new products into the ERP system.
  • Act as a liaison for suppliers and distributors to gather essential information.
  • Compile internal forecasts and relay inventory status reports to wholesale distributors and manufacturers.
  • Work with the Procurement team to develop effective reporting systems for tracking shipments and supply agreements.
  • Responsible for validating sales data and reporting.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, including load and package sizes relevant to Simplot Grower Solutions Markets.
  • Coordinate with Market Office Coordinators, Office Administrators, and the Finance & Accounting Team to ensure accurate matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoicing within our ERP systems.
  • Assist in the logistics of custom seed treating, collaborating with sales staff for optimal use of custom seed treaters.
Industry Engagement
  • Build and sustain strong relationships within the industry as directed by the Crop Protection & Seed Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with designated representatives from manufacturers and distributors.
  • Stay informed about new products and updates in the Crop Protection and Seed sectors.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of key industry players and competitors.
Team Collaboration
  • Actively contribute to the communities we serve.

  • Ensure confidentiality regarding all customer, staff, and supplier information.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

  • Recognize that retail locations are vital profit centers for Simplot Grower Solutions, fostering trust regarding product delivery expectations.
  • Serve as a Procurement contact for distributors and manufacturers to strengthen partnerships and gain competitive advantages.
  • Align with the Crop Protection & Seed Manager to cultivate a progressive culture.
  • Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with Market Managers, Location Operations Managers, and team members at various locations.
