Position Summary
The individual in this role will be accountable for steering the strategic development of value-added products and proprietary lines. Collaboration with Procurement teams, Market Development, Agronomy, and Ag Innovation will be essential. This position requires a robust understanding of agronomic principles to effectively drive demand creation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for developing proprietary product lines that set the company apart in delivering unique solutions to clients.
- Conduct comprehensive research to assess regulatory requirements, market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Collaborate with various locations to enhance sales forecasting and education on focus products, proprietary items, and biological solutions.
- Gain expertise in biological products to effectively support marketing and sales efforts.
- Participate in grower events and coordinate with the Marketing team to execute timely product campaigns.
- Drive sales for focus products through both internal and external resources.
- Work closely with Procurement Leads to ensure proper positioning of proprietary products across the business unit.
- Partner with the Product Manager and Market Development Lead to assess new and existing products and strategize sourcing options.
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Strong agronomic knowledge of Crop Protection products and their application in Western Canadian agriculture.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Western Canadian supply chain.
- Proven sales skills with a history of meeting business growth objectives.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to maximize the company’s scale for profitable growth.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to gather data for resource development and product training.
- Excellent presentation skills, capable of engaging both internal staff and external clients.
- Lead the forecasting process for specific product lines and execute strategic sourcing plans.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Agriculture is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Crop Protection and Seed industry or Agricultural Retail.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% overnight, with additional daytime travel as required.
