Overview
The role involves supporting the Procurement Leads to optimize Simplot Grower Solutions' position in sourcing Seed, Seed Care, Inoculant, and Crop Protection products. This position plays a crucial part in leading effective forecasting and planning strategies to establish Simplot Grower Solutions as a frontrunner in inventory management. Collaboration with the Accounting team is essential for ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders with receipts and invoices, facilitating timely payments to distributors.
Primary Responsibilities
Product Acquisition and Distribution
Collaborate with Procurement Leads to oversee and monitor distribution warehouse inventories, ensuring efficient logistics of products to retail outlets for enhanced profitability. Track aging inventory across various locations. Input new products into the ERP system. Serve as a liaison for suppliers and distributors to gather necessary information. Collect internal forecasts and relay inventory forecast reports to wholesale distributors and manufacturers. Work closely with the Procurement team to develop reporting systems for effective tracking of shipments and supply agreements. Responsible for sales data reporting and validation processes. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, including load and package sizes relevant to Simplot Grower Solutions Markets. Collaborate with Market Office Coordinators, Office Administrators, and Finance & Accounting Teams to ensure successful matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoicing within ERP systems. Assist in the logistics of custom seed treating, working with sales personnel to optimize the use of custom seed treaters.Industry Engagement
Build and sustain strong relationships within the industry as directed by the Crop Protection & Seed Manager. Communicate effectively with designated representatives from manufacturers and distributors. Stay informed about new products and updates in the Crop Protection and Seed sectors as required. Maintain a robust knowledge of key industry personnel and competitors.Team Contribution
Actively support and engage with the communities served. Foster a positive workplace environment. Uphold confidentiality regarding all customers, staff, suppliers, and business operations. Recognize that retail locations are key profit centers for Simplot Grower Solutions. Build trust with these locations regarding product delivery expectations, both in and out of season, to foster a culture of mutual benefit. Serve as a Procurement contact for distributors and manufacturers to strengthen partnerships and gain competitive advantages. Align with the Crop Protection & Seed Manager to cultivate an evolving organizational culture.
