Overview
The role involves assisting the Procurement Leads to optimize Simplot Grower Solutions' position in acquiring Seed, Seed Care, Inoculant, and Crop Protection products. The position is crucial in leading and promoting excellence in forecasting and planning, ensuring that Simplot Grower Solutions excels in inventory management. Collaboration with the Accounting team is essential for the successful alignment of purchase orders with receipts and invoicing, facilitating accurate and timely payments to distributors.
Key Responsibilities
Product Acquisition and Distribution
Collaborate closely with Procurement Leads to oversee and monitor distribution warehouse inventories, ensuring efficient logistics of products to retail locations to enhance warehouse capacity and profitability. Track aging inventory by location. Input new products into the ERP system. Serve as a liaison for suppliers and distributors to gather necessary information. Collect internal forecasts and relay inventory forecast position reports to wholesale distributors and manufacturers. Work collaboratively within the Procurement team to develop reporting systems for effective tracking of shipments and supply contracts. Responsible for validating and reporting sales data. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of all products, including load and package sizes relevant to Simplot Grower Solutions Markets. Partner with Market Office Coordinators, Office Administrators, and the Finance & Accounting Team to ensure accurate matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoicing within ERP systems. Assist in the logistics of custom seed treating, collaborating with sales staff for optimal use of custom seed treaters.Industry Engagement
Establish and nurture strong relationships and a broad industry network as directed by the Crop Protection & Seed Manager. Communicate effectively with designated representatives from manufacturers and distributors. Continuously enhance knowledge of new products and updates in Crop Protection and Seed as necessary. Maintain a robust understanding of key industry personnel and competitors.Team Contribution
Actively support and contribute to the communities served. Foster a positive workplace atmosphere. Uphold confidentiality regarding all customers, staff, suppliers, and business operations. Recognize that retail locations are the primary profit centers for Simplot Grower Solutions. Build trust with locations regarding product delivery expectations in both peak and off-peak seasons, promoting a culture of mutual benefit. Serve as a Procurement contact for distribution and manufacturers to strengthen partnerships and gain competitive advantages. Align with the Crop Protection & Seed Manager to foster an evolving culture.
