Position SummaryThe individual in this role will be accountable for the strategic vision and advancement of value-added products and proprietary product lines. Collaboration with Procurement teams, Market Development, Agronomy, and Ag Innovation will be essential. This position demands a robust understanding of agronomic positioning, technical support, and the ability to foster demand creation within SGS Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and leverage opportunities for Simplot Grower Solutions to establish its proprietary product line, setting SGS Canada apart by delivering unique solutions to customers.
- Conduct thorough research to grasp regulatory requirements, market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with all SGS locations to forecast and boost sales of focus products, proprietary offerings, and biological solutions, while providing necessary education and technical support.
- Gain expertise in biological products to effectively select, support, and market these offerings.
- Participate in grower events and coordinate with the Marketing team and Market Development Lead to execute timely product campaigns.
- Drive sales for CPP & Seed focus products through both internal (AgProve) and external channels.
- Partner with Procurement Leads to ensure accurate positioning of focus and proprietary products across the SGS Canada Business Unit.
- Work alongside the CPP & Seed Manager and Market Development Lead to assess new and existing products and explore strategic sourcing options for SGS Canada.
- In-depth agronomic knowledge of Crop Protection products and their positioning for customer success in Western Canadian agriculture.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Western Canadian supply chain.
- Proven sales acumen (in grower or retail environments), with a track record of meeting business growth objectives.
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers to maximize SGS Canada's scale and facilitate profitable growth.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Agronomy/AgProve, AgInnovation, Sales & Operations) to extract data for resource development, business updates, and product training.
- Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging both internal staff and external customers.
- Proficient in leading the SGS Canada forecasting process for specific product lines and executing a strategic sourcing plan.
- Actively support and contribute to the communities served.
- Maintain a positive workplace attitude.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding all customers, staff, suppliers, and business operations.
- Assist with special projects as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Business or Agriculture is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in the CPP & Seed industry or Ag Retail.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% overnight, with additional daytime travel within the trade area.
This position is remote and will require travel to various SGS Canada locations.
Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
