Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit leadership by upholding the highest professional and ethical standards, ensuring transparency in all procurement activities.
  • Oversee the request for proposal (RFP) process, including planning, preparation, and management of RFP documentation; assist internal stakeholders in developing Statements of Work (SOW); analyze and evaluate commercial proposals; manage technical evaluations; negotiate terms on behalf of the organization; and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, negotiation, and implementation of purchase orders for significant acquisitions and services.
  • Assess business risks and provide recommendations to mitigate potential exposure.
  • Present alternative solutions to address current or anticipated issues affecting stakeholders.
  • Manage and finalize contracts as necessary.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of complex procurement and tendering processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Advanced understanding of contract lifecycle management.
  • Experience in mining or industrial construction is an asset.
  • Familiarity with union environments is advantageous.

Education

  • A diploma or a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, negotiation, and execution of various purchase agreements, preferably within the mining sector.
  • SCMP designation or equivalent is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
