Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Osmow's Grill. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our food and service meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Lead and manage a team of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that food meets our high standards, and address any issues promptly.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for business growth.
  • Scheduling: Establish work schedules to ensure that our team is adequately staffed and prepared to meet customer demand.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment.
  • Supervision: 3-4 people.
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, team player, and dependability.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Assist with Immediate Settlement Needs: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Support Social and Labour Market Integration: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
Support for Youths:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • Offer On-the-Job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, providing them with valuable work experience and skills.
  • Provide Mentorship and Coaching: Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth, helping them to develop their skills and confidence.
Support for Veterans:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans.
  • Offer Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, helping them to transition into the civilian workforce.
  • Provide Flexible Onboarding Options: Provide flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.
  • Apply Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
  • Provide Mentorship Programs: Provide mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, helping them to develop their skills and confidence.
