Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner for Operations & Supply Chain to enhance our HR capabilities across various operational functions. As an experienced HR professional, you will be dedicated to shaping an exceptional employee experience and developing initiatives that empower our workforce to achieve their career aspirations. Your extensive background in human resources, particularly within manufacturing settings, will enable you to design and implement effective strategies tailored to our organizational needs.

This role requires a significant presence at our operational facilities, necessitating travel as part of your responsibilities.

This position reports directly to the Director of HRBP Operations, Supply Chain, & Science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic HRBP consultant to facility leadership in operations.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to promote positive employee relations within the facilities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on intricate employee relations matters, offering guidance and recommendations for resolution.
  • Lead and conduct employee investigations, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and adherence to company policies and legal standards.
  • Create and deliver training programs for management and staff on conflict resolution, effective communication, and other pertinent subjects.
  • Evaluate employee feedback and survey results to identify trends and develop action plans aimed at enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in employee relations, proactively suggesting initiatives to improve the employee experience.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior management on complex and sensitive employee relations issues, offering insights and recommendations to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal laws and regulations regarding labor relations, employment standards, human rights, and privacy legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with occupational health and safety professionals, legal advisors, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to establish effective claims management processes.
  • Develop clear communication channels and escalation procedures to ensure timely handling of WSIB claims and related issues.
  • Work with internal and external partners to reduce workplace hazards and prevent injuries.
  • Analyze injury trends to identify improvement areas and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports and the broader HR team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Coach and guide HR team members to enhance their competencies in employee relations, talent management, and HR business partnering.
  • Collaborate with the broader Human Resources team to refine, develop, and implement effective programs and processes that support employee retention and development aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to facilitate their professional growth.
  • Develop, implement, and revise HR policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and effective communication of all human resource policies, procedures, and directives, facilitating employee engagement and development, while partnering with senior leaders to formulate HR strategies that align with organizational objectives and foster a positive work environment.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process enhancements and strategic interventions.
  • Participate in strategic workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization possesses the necessary talent and skills to achieve its objectives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading HR initiatives in manufacturing and/or operational environments.
  • CHRP designation is a valuable asset.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience with a track record of developing high-potential talent.
  • Extensive experience in HR Business Partnering, coaching leaders, and supporting organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Exceptional skills in Employee Relations, particularly in conflict management and investigations.
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong understanding and application of provincial and federal legislation.

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.

  • High degree of initiative, diplomacy, and discretion.
