Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Operations Trainer to lead and manage all technical training initiatives on-site. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, this pivotal role involves the design, implementation, and assessment of extensive training programs tailored to the cultivation, processing, and packaging of cannabis products. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in developing educational programs for adult learners within a manufacturing context.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive training and development strategy for Operations that aligns with the company's objectives.
- Ensure training programs are in sync with business goals and employee growth requirements.
- Keep informed of industry trends and best practices to enhance training effectiveness continuously.
Program Development and Management:
- Create, implement, and supervise extensive training programs, including onboarding and technical training specific to operations.
- Develop tailored training solutions to meet the unique needs of various departments and roles.
- Review and refresh training materials, methodologies, and technologies to maintain their relevance and effectiveness.
Support for Manufacturing Sites:
- Coordinate and deliver operations-specific training programs across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Ensure uniformity and standardization of training materials, resources, and job aids across all sites.
- Travel as necessary to evaluate training needs and execute programs at various locations.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Guide and mentor staff responsible for delivering operations training across different departments.
- Encourage a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work alongside department heads, HR, and senior leadership to identify training needs and priorities across operations.
- Communicate training initiatives and results to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support across functions.
Evaluation and Reporting:
- Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
- Provide regular updates on training activities, participation, satisfaction, and performance improvements.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine and enhance training initiatives.
Budget Management:
- Develop and oversee the training budget, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Source and manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants as necessary.
Travel: This is an on-site role that may require travel to other sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing effective training programs.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a methodical execution approach.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting on training metrics.

- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

- High level of integrity and honesty.
- Functional proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in training and development.
- Certification in training (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to multiple manufacturing sites as required.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector or a similar environment is highly preferred.
