We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner for Operations & Supply Chain to enhance our operational functions. Your extensive background as a generalist in manufacturing settings equips you to design and implement strategies effectively. Your skills encompass organizational efficiency, talent development, WSIB and claims oversight, managing intricate employee relations issues, coaching leadership, and promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as fundamental principles within our organization.
This role requires significant on-site presence at our facilities, necessitating travel as part of the responsibilities.
This position reports directly to the Director of HRBP Operations, Supply Chain, & Science.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HRBP advisor to facility Operations leaders.
- Formulate and execute strategies to cultivate positive employee relations within the facilities.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to management on complex employee relations matters, offering guidance and recommendations for resolution.
- Lead and conduct employee investigations, ensuring thoroughness, fairness, and adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Design and deliver training initiatives for managers and employees on conflict resolution, effective communication, and other pertinent subjects.
- Analyze employee feedback and survey results to identify trends and develop action plans aimed at enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in employee relations, proactively suggesting initiatives to improve the employee experience.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior management on complex and sensitive employee relations issues, offering insights and recommendations to resolve challenges while minimizing organizational risk.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations concerning labor relations, employment standards, human rights, and privacy legislation.
- Collaborate closely with occupational health & safety professionals, legal advisors, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to create effective claims management processes.
- Establish clear communication channels and escalation protocols to ensure timely and efficient management of WSIB claims and related issues.
- Work with internal and external partners to mitigate workplace hazards and prevent injuries.
- Review and analyze injury trends to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to reduce risks.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports and the broader HR team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Coach and mentor HR team members to enhance their skills in employee relations, talent management, and HR business partnering.
- Collaborate with the wider Human Resources team to improve, develop, and implement effective programs and processes to retain and develop employees in alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth.
- Develop, implement, and revise HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and effective communication of all human resource policies, procedures, and directives, facilitating employee engagement and development, and partnering with senior leaders to create HR strategies that support the organization's objectives and foster a positive work environment.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process enhancement and strategic interventions.
- Participate in strategic workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization possesses the talent and skills necessary to achieve its objectives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Undergraduate Degree in HR or a related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience leading HR in manufacturing and/or operations environments is essential.
- CHRP Designation is advantageous.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience with a successful track record of developing high-potential talent.
- Proven expertise in HR Business Partnering, coaching leaders, and supporting organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Exceptional skills in Employee Relations, particularly in conflict management and investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Comprehensive understanding and application of provincial and federal legislation.
