Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Operations Trainer to oversee and facilitate all technical training on-site. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, this pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive training programs tailored to the cultivation, processing, and packaging of cannabis products. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in developing educational and training initiatives for adult learners within a manufacturing context.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Formulate and execute the overarching strategy for Operations training and development to align with company objectives.
  • Ensure training programs are in sync with business goals and the developmental needs of employees.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance training effectiveness continuously.

Program Development and Management:

  • Create, implement, and manage extensive training programs, including onboarding and technical training specific to operations.
  • Design tailored training solutions to meet the unique needs of various departments and roles within the organization.
  • Review and refresh training materials, methodologies, and technologies to maintain their relevance and effectiveness.

Support for Manufacturing Sites:

  • Coordinate and deliver operations-specific training programs across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Ensure uniformity and standardization of training materials, resources, and job aids across all sites.
  • Travel as necessary to evaluate training needs and implement programs at various locations.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Guide and mentor personnel responsible for delivering operations training across different departments.
  • Encourage a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with department heads, HR, and senior leadership to identify training needs and priorities across operations.
  • Communicate training initiatives and outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support across functions.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
  • Provide regular updates on training activities, participation, satisfaction, and performance improvements.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine and enhance training initiatives.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and oversee the training budget, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Source and manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants as necessary.

Travel: This is an on-site role that may require travel to other locations as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing effective training programs.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in training and development.
  • Certification in training (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple manufacturing sites as required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector or a similar environment is highly desirable.
