Clinical Nurse Position

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing program or an equivalent combination of education and experience recognized by the regulatory body.
  • Active registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current certification in Occupational First Aid Level 1.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check as mandated by the Ministry of Justice.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in geriatric care is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, document, and update residents' physical and psychological health status, care, and nursing interventions.
  • Provide personal care assistance to residents as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Care Manager to complete assessments and develop care plans.
  • Implement and adhere to Fall Safety protocols within the facility.
  • Contribute to the creation and adjustment of individualized care plans through interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Complete required training modules related to wound care and other relevant topics.

Health Assessment Duties:

  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings.
  • Recognize deviations from mental health baselines, including distinguishing between dementia and delirium.
  • Assess and monitor residents' strengths and limitations across physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual dimensions.
  • Take appropriate actions, such as consulting with primary healthcare providers or referring to mental health specialists.
